The Medicube Azelaic Acid Exosome Shot 2000 is an intensive Korean facial serum developed for blemish-prone skin with visible redness, excess sebum, post-blemish marks and uneven texture.

Its innovative formula combines naturally derived microscopic spicules with 15 million exosomes, helping the serum’s active ingredients work effectively on the skin. Azelaic acid and 5% niacinamide help improve uneven tone, post-blemish discolouration and excess oil, while salicylic acid and betaine salicylate support clearer-looking pores and smoother texture.

Centella Asiatica, ceramide, hyaluronic acid and soothing botanical extracts help maintain moisture and support the skin barrier. The 2000 version provides the brand’s milder intensity level, making it the recommended starting point for customers who have not previously used spicule-based skincare.

A mild tingling sensation may be experienced during and after application due to the microscopic spicules.

Benefits

  • Helps calm the appearance of redness caused by dryness
  • Supports the care of blemish-prone and unbalanced skin
  • Helps fade the appearance of post-blemish marks
  • Regulates the appearance of excess oil
  • Improves rough and uneven skin texture
  • Helps minimise the appearance of enlarged pores
  • Supports clearer and more even-looking skin
  • Lightweight texture that absorbs without a sticky finish

According to Medicube’s instrumental testing, the product helped reduce excess oil by 10.3% after two weeks. Individual results may vary.

How Does It Work?

The formula contains Hydrolyzed Sponge, a source of microscopic, naturally derived spicules. These create a temporary tingling sensation as the product is massaged into the skin and help enhance contact between the formula and the skin’s surface.

Despite being described as “microneedles,” these are not medical needles and the treatment is not equivalent to professional microneedling.

Key Ingredients

  • Niacinamide 5%: Helps regulate excess sebum, brighten post-blemish marks and improve uneven texture.
  • Azelaic Acid: Supports clearer-looking skin and helps improve visible redness and uneven tone.
  • Milk Exosomes: Part of the product’s targeted delivery and skin-conditioning system.
  • Hydrolyzed Sponge Spicules: Microscopic particles responsible for the characteristic tingling sensation.
  • Salicylic Acid & Betaine Salicylate: Help remove pore-clogging dead skin cells and refine rough texture.
  • Centella Asiatica & TECA Components: Help soothe stressed skin and support its recovery.
  • Ceramide NP: Reinforces the skin’s moisture barrier.
  • Sodium Hyaluronate: Helps maintain hydration and prevent tightness.
  • Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate: Provides additional soothing care.

Suitable For

Best suited to combination, oily and blemish-prone skin experiencing:

  • Post-blemish marks
  • Visible redness
  • Excess sebum
  • Blackheads and whiteheads
  • Enlarged pores
  • Rough or uneven texture

Sensitive skin should patch test before use. Do not apply to irritated, damaged or freshly exfoliated skin.

How to Use

Use as the first step after evening cleansing, before toner, serum or moisturiser.

Apply a small amount evenly over dry skin, avoiding the eye and lip areas. Gently massage and pat with your hands until absorbed. Follow with a simple hydrating serum or water-based moisturiser.

Beginners should introduce it gradually, starting two or three evenings per week. Adjust the quantity and frequency according to the skin’s tolerance. Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning.

Important Usage Advice

  • Do not use on damaged, sunburned or actively irritated skin.
  • Avoid the eye and lip areas.
  • Do not use immediately after shaving, waxing or professional treatments.
  • Avoid using it in the same routine with strong exfoliating acids, peeling products, retinoids or other spicule treatments, especially when first introducing it.
  • Medicube does not recommend combining spicule products with its AGE-R devices if you are not already familiar with this type of skincare.
  • Patch testing is strongly recommended.

Basic FAQs

Is the tingling sensation normal?
Yes. Mild tingling can occur because the formula contains microscopic spicules. Reduce the amount or frequency if the sensation is uncomfortable. Stop using it if you experience persistent burning, swelling or significant irritation.

Is Shot 2000 suitable for beginners?
Yes. Medicube identifies 2000 as the milder level and recommends starting with it before considering the stronger 7500 version.

Can I use it every day?
Frequency depends on skin tolerance. Beginners should start two or three times weekly and increase only if the skin remains comfortable.

Can it help with acne?
It can support blemish-prone skin by addressing excess oil, clogged pores, uneven texture and post-blemish marks.
